
There is exciting news for all as Sidcup Library intends to be rebuilt and refurbished on Sidcup High Street. Sidcup Library has always been a favourite of the local people. From the wide selection of books to alcoves perfect for enjoying a book and the reading challenges hosted throughout the year, it is evident why many love it. Now that it is being relocated more people will have a chance to enjoy it.
Currently Sidcup Library is at the end of Hadlow Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 4AQ. The library has remained closed since the 29 October, until reconstruction on Sidcup High Street towards the end of December.
The new library is already being worked on as staff are stocking the new shelves with books. The library will then continue to host activities for children such as, storytelling, arts and crafts and discussion reading, as well as the multiple reading challenges.
Many readers who regularly visit are also looking forward to the new library including Aoife O’Mahony, who said: “I think the new library is an exciting opportunity for Sidcup and I am looking forward to borrow some new books.”
This new library will bring many benefits to the young community of Sidcup. For example, moving the library to the High Street means that the number of people visiting will increase as it will be located in a more populated area of Sidcup. Therefore, more people will be encouraged to read and get a chance to enjoy a book in this calm and tranquil environment.
